Two arrested after drugs of £3000 recovered in city
Two people have been arrested in Southampton during a series of drugs raids in the latest phase of Operation Phoenix.
A large quantity of cocaine and heroin with an estimated street value of £3000 was recovered from a property in Stanton Road today, November 30.
A 37-year-old man and a 29-year-old woman were arrested at the address in connection with the supply of Class A drugs.
Today’s raids were part of the continued crackdown on drug dealing across Southampton. 55 people have already been arrested as a result of massive crack down on drug dealing in the city.
High profile stop checks and drugs searches have also taken place as part of Phoenix.
Acting Detective Inspector Chris Chatterley said:
"Class A drugs have a detrimental effect on the whole community and police in Southampton work hard to disrupt the activities of those bringing drugs into the city. Today’s arrests and drugs seizure reaffirms that we will continue to target those blighting our communities.
"More operations are planned – if you’re involved in drug dealing we will be knocking on your door in the future."
